This was hands down one of the best experiences we had during our trip to Morocco! We booked the Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech with stops in the Three Valleys, waterfalls, and Berber villages, and it exceeded every expectation.
Our driver picked us up right from our riad in Marrakech around 8:00 a.m. in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. As we left the city behind, the scenery quickly changed from bustling streets to peaceful mountain landscapes. The drive through the valleys was stunning — snow-capped peaks in the distance, winding roads, and tiny villages perched on the hillsides.
Our guide, Mohammed, was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about his Berber heritage. He shared stories about the local traditions and daily life in the mountains, making the experience feel personal and authentic. We stopped at a women’s argan oil cooperative, where we learned how the oil is made and enjoyed fresh bread, olive oil, and mint tea.
The hike to the waterfalls in the Imlil Valley was a highlight! It was a moderate walk (wear proper shoes), and the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking. We even spotted goats climbing the rocks. Lunch at a local Berber guesthouse was delicious — tagine, couscous, and fresh fruit, all served with the warmest hospitality and an incredible mountain view.
By the time we headed back to Marrakech in the late afternoon, we were tired but so happy. The trip gave us a perfect mix of nature, culture, and adventure — and it felt like great value for the price.
